Blagovesta (Betty) Getsova

I started my sport career at the age of 6 in Bulgaria. I was lucky to be coached by Efrosina Angelova (now a top USA coach) who helped me reach my goals and get the best results.  For me, being at the gym was a good place to give me freedom for my creativity and fantasy. Competitions were challenging and an exiting part of my life.

I graduated from high school and continued to follow my dreams.  I completed a Masters Degree in University of Sport in Bulgaria and continued to train with the University team. I retired once I finished University and became a coach myself.

I started to raise my own gymnasts and felt happy and proud with their successes. In 1994 I was sent by the Bulgarian Federation to Brazil to prepare the Brazilian group for the World Championships in Vienna. I took up the challenge .The next steps were to work with the Taiwan National team and then to prepare the Thailand National Team in 2003. Teaching and coaching are professions that create.

My philosophy of success in sport is: WISH, WILL, DISCIPLINE AND INDUSTRIOUSNESS. IF ANY OF THESE QUALITIES ARE MISSING - SUCCESS IS IMPOSSIBLE. I feel happy and blessed to work with beautiful, talented young girls. I help create qualities and provide the knowledge to help the gymnasts develop into wonderful persons and keep the love of Rhythmic Gymnastics alive forever.
